The review
Alex Claremont-Diaz is the first son of America. He’s also a politician in training, occasional party boy, brother to June, half Mexican, America’s biggest bachelor, and a presumed enemy to Prince Henry of England. When the two reconnect at a royal wedding, things don’t go according to plan and the two gentlemen must play nice publically to do some damage control. But maybe Alex and Henry had the wrong idea about each other all along…
I waited too long to read this, but motivated by the new movie adaption on Amazon, I dove right on in and boy was the water FINE. This steamy romcom had me swooning, giggling, and totally rooting for this transatlantic couple that were avoiding a public outing and attempting not to destroy Alex’s mom’s re-election campaign.
I LOVED the politics (and how much Texas is featured!!) and I adored all things British, obviously. The audiobook is great and the movie adaption is…. solid.
OK, the adaption is fantastic, stays so close to the book, and the casting is incredible. BUT, and maybe this is because I read it immediately before watching, I was a little bummed about the things they removed or added (the journalist storyline?! IYKYK.) There is one thing that’s done better in the movie (Alex seems to be way less sexually confused in the movie) that I preferred, so there is that.
ANYWAYS, I LOVED IT. BRB buying all the RWRB fan stuff!!
