The review
Two women born on the same day at the same hospital — and 45 years later, their paths cross. Alix Summers has the life — gorgeous house, handsome husband, two adorable kids, and a hit podcast interviewing equally successful women. It’s a stark contrast to Josie Fair, who’s life is as predictable (and mysterious) as her all-denim wardrobe. She cares for her aging husband, her daughter, and is never seen without her pup on her hip.
When Josie spies Alix across the pub as they each celebrate their birthdays, she can’t help but see a parallel life. And she can’t get Alix and her glamorous life out of her head. She proposes an idea to Alix for a new podcast — a show about her own life, which she’s about to upend. It’s an offer Alix can’t refuse but it’s not just Josie’s life that’s about to change.
The accuracy of this book title, y’all. I never had any clue what was happening, who was lying, who was telling the truth, what everyone’s secrets were. It’s drama, drama, drama — all smoke and mirrors and the power of perception. Is Alix’s life as perfect as it seems? Is Josie to be pitied or feared? And what secrets are about to be revealed?
I feel like I’ve posed a lot of questions in this review and that’s truly because it’s hard to not spoil this wild ride of a book!!
I’d highly recommend this one on audio — great production with a full cast! If you’re an audiobook fan, you’ll love it like I did.
