The review

Once an aspiring journalist, Chandler has ended up in a career of ghostwriting. And, she’s actually kind of killing it — but the “ghost” part of ghostwriter is getting to her a bit. Pushed out of her comfort zone by this job satisfaction, she has a rare one night stand with a dreamboat of a ginger dude she meets at the bar.

But Chandler’s next memoir ghost writing assignment is so very different from her others. Finn Walsh is a C-list actor who’s best role is a lovable nerd on a cult classic show (ahem, hello Adam Brody, my actual dream boyfriend since like 2007 or so). The two travel the country together as Finn meets his fans at various cons and Chandler works with him on the book, while also teaching Finn a thing or two about an area in his life that, well, needs improvement.

I love Rachel Lynn Solomon and she’s an autobuy romance author for me because she delivers on the romance and chemistry, of course, while also creating lovable, real-feeling characters and crafting an intriguing story. I adored WEATHER GIRL and THE EX TALK, but this one stands out to me because….

It’s smutty af.

And yes this is coming from me, someone who needs story, well-developed characters, and good writing to even entertain reading past chapter one. If you love sexy scenes but can’t bring yourself to the eye roll-inducing dialogue of smut, this book is for you.

Pause. ABSOLUTELY no shame to smut lovers. This is tooootally a personal preference thing and I don’t want to imply that one type of romance is better than the other. But, this one does the rare thing and is both!

There’s sex in like *almost* every chapter. It’s kind of wild how that’s possible to drag a long some intrigue and building the chemistry while also having lots of physicality. (Like, this is hard to write about, LMAO… I feel like I’m not supposed to be writing a review on the sex level in books but here I am. Ur welcome.)

Anyways, pick this one up in your preferred book format — Kindle, paperback, or audiobook. Be warned that listening to this book in public could be problematic. You could, for instance, be checking out at the grocery store while also streaming a very dirty scene in your earbuds.
