In My Dreams I Hold a Knife (Review)

If you lived THE SECRET HISTORY (or, if you hated it but liked the dark academa vibes), this book is for you!

🖤IN MY DREAMS I HOLD A KNIFE by Ashley Winstead 🖤

It’s been 10 years since Jessica Miller graduated from Duquette University, and she has big plans for Homecoming. She’s going to show all her classmates how great she’s doing, but one former student’s quest to figure out what happened to Heather, Jessica’s best friend and roommate who was murdered senior year, prevents Jess from taking her victory lap through her alma mater.

The murderer college student/reunion trope has obviously been done, but IMO it’s never been done so well. I truly felt like I understood each character’s personality and back story which is so hard since there are several! I just really loved how the story unfolded and the nonlinear flashes back. I totally have a new go-to thriller recommendation and fave author — she gets bonus points for being a Houstonian of course!
