It Had to be You (Review)

If a book was a hug, then this would be it. ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ’

๐Ÿ’™IT HAD TO BE YOU by Georgia Clark ๐Ÿ’™

Picture Love Actually โ€” subtract the holiday themes โ€” and add in modern day New York City, and you basically get It Had To Be You by Georgia Clark. I did have to wrap my head around a LOT of characters, which I usually find really frustrating in books. But once I realized they all were connected, I absolutely adored it. And then I was just incredibly impressed by Georgia Clark’s ability to give us just enough about each character to understand them at the level we need for the book to make sense โ€” but not bombard us with a dozen charactersโ€™ life stories.

I loved the unexpected friendship between Liv and Savannah โ€” as well as each of their self discovery. I loved the passion between Zia and Clay and the real, relatable issues between Darlene and Zach. I loved the generational divide and love between Henry and Gorman.

Ugh, just all the warm fuzzies! I think this book and synopsis had all the opportunity to be cliche or derivative, but it was so perfectly well done. I’m in complete awe of Georgia Clark! Did I already go online and buy her other books?! Yep. Obsessed!
