The Invisible Life of Addie Lerue (Review)

Well, I’ll definitely be remembering you, Addie LaRue — your story is a hard one to forget! 🖤

The vibe

Book / Earrings / Jacket / Booties / Backpack / Rings

Addie is one bad*ss lady and you just know her style is *chef’s kiss* — these are all items I imagine modern-day Addie rocking.

The review

✨ THE INVISIBLE LIFE OF ADDIE LARUE by V.E. Schwab✨

📝 Brief synopsis: Addie LaRue desperately doesn’t want to get married, and on the day of her wedding, she makes a deal with a devil. She’s granted immortality and independence — but it comes with a cost. She cannot make a mark on the world — nothing written, painted, photographed, typed, or anything — and not a soul will remember her. The story bounces between Addie’s 300 years of life and what happens in modern day NYC where she meets a man who finally says three words she’s been waiting to hear: “I remember you.”

🚫 CW: suicide, depression

💭 My thoughts: Oh man did I fall for Addie — what a true fantasy heroine. I feel confident i will be throwing on my leather jacket and channeling her independence and bravery in the new year. Also i adored how — despite not being able to create art herself — she finds ways to inspire it through people who will never remember or name their muse. Without spoiling anything… I didn’t adore the ending. But I knew it had to be how it had to be. Just. Ugh. Emotions.
